Summary The purpose of this project is to provide knowledge to parents, teachers, faculty and staff of school-aged children about bullying. Specifically, this project will identify and define all forms of bullying, discuss the characteristics of a bully, a victim and the bystander, identify mental health issues related to bullying, including depression, suicidal ideation and suicide attempts, identify early signs of abuse, define the roles of parents, students, faculty and staff in the prevention and interventions of bullying, as well as define L.A.U.S.D. policies and procedures to handle and report bullying. Lastly, this project will identify strategies for prevention and current intervention programs that have been implemented into schools.
