Summary Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) has become the most popular modulation technique for high speed data transmission. However, high peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is a major drawback of this modulation technique, because high peak reduces the power efficiency of the RF power amplifier at transmitter. This project gives an overview of the popular OFDM reduction techniques, and indicates that selected mapping (SLM) is a promising reduction technique.
