Summary This case study focused on a mother with intellectual disabilities (ID) and her two children. The mother had difficulties with meeting her personal needs such as understanding how to complete tasks and remembering important appointments. She also had difficulties performing her parental roles duties such as managing behavior of her children, communicating with them effectively, and attending to their basic childcare needs. Literature on parents with ID has been valuable in the process of creating easy-to-follow childcare materials that parents with ID may use. Personalized materials such as a large day-by-day calendar and other visuals were prepared for the mother to use while doing daily tasks. With the use of modeling, and the support of the materials, the mother imitated the step-by-step procedures as illustrated on the pictures. With the help of these materials, the mother has shown improvement with her parenting skills such as communicating with her children more appropriately, attending to their needs and interacting with them effectively.
