Summary The following report describes the development and implementation of a radio controlled quadrotor. The report provides a history of the quadrotor and describes the entire development process from the basic fundamentals of flight of such a vehicle, to the selection of parts, to the maiden flight. The development of the vehicle was completed through the use of the Arduino development platform. The basic parts of the vehicle include the Arduino controller board, accelerometer and gyroscope sensors, electronic speed controllers, motors, propellers, and a lithium-ion polymer battery. This report also describes piloting strategy and a process known as PID tuning to make adjustments to the behavior of the vehicle after the maiden flight.
