Summary This study examines the culture of black undergraduate student leadership at a baccalaureate-granting Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). In this study, the author utilizes portraiture methodology to examine the meaning of black female student leadership and experiences of black female student leaders in a culturally-based student organization. The organization studied is unique in structure and mission. The study is grounded in Rendón's validation theory, which examines the experiences and institutional support of underrepresented students.
