Summary Collection consists of the correspondence files of Mr. Webb, the correspondence of Lady Monckton, and a few other letters addressed to different people. The correspondence in Webb’s files includes letters from many music personalities such as Samuel Coleridge Taylor, H. H. Lyell-Tayler, Sir Charles Parry, and Albert Visetti. Internal evidence in the collection does not explain how Lady Monckton’s correspondence became part of Francis Webb’s collection. Lady Monckton was the mother of Lionel Monckton, a friend of Webb. Lady Monckton, an amateur actress, was married to Sir John Monckton, London’s town clerk.
